Bio:I received my BA in anthropology from Hamline University. In 1999, I spent 6 months in Africa studying art and culture, doing field-based research, and traveling. It was by far the most amazing and transformative experience of my life thus far. After graduating in 2000, I moved to Seattle. I really like the area, but I ended up moving back to Minnesota after a year. I miss the Northwest Coast's temperate climate - I guess I didn't live there long enough for the rain to get to me! I returned to Hamline to work in the studio arts and art history department as their slide librarian, assistant curator, and registrar. In the summer of 2004, after 3 years, I needed a change and left Hamline. I spent time on the East Coast, traveling and visiting college friends, and explored options in the nonprofit sector. Because I just can't get enough of my alma mater, I came back to Hamline again, this time as an employee and student.
Currently, I am the Administrative Director of the Wesley Center, a collaborative, university-wide center interested in social justice. I am also pursuing a MA in nonprofit management through Hamline's Graduate School of Management. I will be finished with my course work in just over a year. I still love art, but I don't create it as often as I'd like to. Jake, my boyfriend of 2 years, and I currently live in Vadnais Heights. We take advantage of the area's open space (over 1/3 of the city's land) and do a lot of biking and hiking. We're excitedly planning a trip to Peru in January. I enjoy traveling within the US, but I'm looking forward to leaving the country! I'll be coming to the reunion with some of the kids from TF.
